20 Students jump from second-floor window of Yerevan School

An alarming incident occurred at Yerevan’s Kostan Zaryan No. 117 School on September 29, when a group of 9th-grade students jumped from a second-floor window after being prevented from leaving through the main exit, Shamshyan.com reported.
According to reports, the situation unfolded after a teacher left the classroom in frustration. When the students attempted to exit the school, a guard blocked the main door, prompting about 20 pupils to leap from a second-floor corridor window.
One female student sustained a spinal injury and was rushed to Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center in shock. Doctors confirmed a vertebral fracture, she remains under close supervision and will undergo surgery.
The school administration confirmed the incident, noting that the class teacher has been in contact with the family and visited the student at the hospital. Police officers have spoken with students, staff and administrators as part of an investigation.
