Spain’s Alboraya officially recognizes Armenian Genocide

Six parties of the city council – the ruling PSOE and Compromís, the PP, VOX, Alboraya actúa and Esquerra Unida-Unides Podem per Alboraya voted unanimously in favor of the statement submitted by Compromís, which was based on a motion by the Ararat Armenian Union of Spain, according to Orer.eu.

The members of the City Council have expressed willingness to help the Armenian community of Spain to take the issue to the Spanish parliament.

The city councillors, in their remarks, condemned the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire, attached importance to the need for a universal recognition of the Armenian Genocide by all countries, as well as reparations by Turkiye.
