AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School Acquires New Property to Meet Expansion Goals

CANOGA PARK, Calif. – The Armenian General Benevolent Union and the AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School on announced the purchase of a commercial property located directly across the street from the AGBU MDS campus.
As AGBU MDS enters its 50th anniversary school year, this acquisition marks a significant step in the school’s long-term vision for providing state-of-the-art learning environments for its Preschool to 12th grade programs.
For years, AGBU MDS has had a high demand for enrollment. With a growing waiting list and potential students turned away each year due to space limitations, the need for expansion has become more urgent than ever.
“This new property allows us to dream bigger,” said David Ghoogasian, Head of School of AGBU MDS. “We are deeply committed to offering a high-quality, Armenian-American education to as many students as possible, and this expansion brings that goal within reach.”
The purchase of the new property will provide the long-term potential to accommodate more students and programs. With the completed acquisition, plans for redevelopment are just beginning now.
“As we celebrate 50 years of educational excellence,” said Kevork Zoryan, Chair of the AGBU Western Region, “this expansion stands as a symbol of our continued growth, resilience, and commitment to the future of our students and our community.”
Founded in 1976, AGBU MDS is a private Armenian American school in Canoga Park, CA, offering an academic curriculum rooted in cultural heritage, values, and global citizenship.
