Footage has emerged of an armed attack prepared by an Armenian resident of the city of Stepanakert, Karen Albertovich Avanesyan.
Law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan detained a local resident of Armenian descent, Karen Albertovich Avanesyan, born in 1967, in the city of Stepanakert.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Avanesyan went to a forest area near Stepanakert, took a Kalashnikov assault rifle and 4 clips of ammunition for it, as well as 5 grenades, which he had previously hidden there.
The man was detained by police officers while trying to approach the venue of the event in the city of Stepanakert. Avanesyan offered armed resistance to the police, throwing three hand grenades and opening fire from a machine gun. Avanesyan was wounded in return fire. He was detained.
In addition, a police officer was wounded.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that operational investigative measures are being carried out jointly with the Prosecutor General’s Office and the State Security Service, and a criminal case has been opened.
