Karekin Catholicos Goes to Vatican

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on Monday travelled to the Vatican to meet with Pope Leo XIV.

The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reports that Karekin II is accompanied by Bishop Daniel Findikyan, head of the Postgraduate Department of the Gevorgyan Theological Seminary; Rev. Fr. Garegin Hambardzumyan, head of the Inter-Church Relations Department; Abbot Yesayi Grigoryan, the Catholicos’ chaplain; and Rev. Fr. Vahram Melikyan, Director of Information Services.

In the Vatican, Catholicos Karekin II will be joined by Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Legate of the Western Europe and Representative of the Armenian Apostolic Church to the Holy See, as well as Bishop Hovakim Manukyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Great Britain and Ireland.
