ANCA-WR to Honor Armenian Bar Association with Vahan Cardashian Award

Los Angeles, CA – The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) announced that the Armenian Bar Association will be honored with the Vahan Cardashian Award at this year’s ANCA-WR Gala Banquet. The award celebrates the Armenian Bar Association’s commitment to legal advocacy, human rights, and the pursuit of justice for the Armenian-American community and the Armenian Nation.
The Gala will take place on Sunday October 26, 2025, at the Fairmont Century Plaza, Los Angeles, and is expected to draw community leaders, public officials, and coalition partners from across the Western United States.
Founded in 1989, the Armenian Bar Association has advanced legal protections and civic empowerment within the Armenian-American community, from defending the rights of Armenian Genocide survivors and Indigenous people of Artsakh to supporting civil rights cases and providing mentorship for Armenian law students.
“For more than three decades, the Armenian Bar Association has exemplified the spirit of Vahan Cardashian through its unwavering dedication to justice, rule of law, and community empowerment,” stated ANCA-WR Chairman Oshin Harootoonian. “We are proud to recognize their profound impact on our collective pursuit of truth and accountability.”
The Vahan Cardashian Award is named after the early 20th century Armenian-American political pioneer who advocated tirelessly for the rights of the Armenian people in the aftermath of the Armenian Genocide. The award is presented annually to individuals and organizations who demonstrate extraordinary dedication to the Armenian Cause.
