ANCA-WR Honors Lenna Hovanessian’s Service, Backs Her Campaign for Clark County Commission
Longtime Board Member Lenna Hovanessian Steps Down to Pursue Historic Candidacy for Clark County Commission, District F, Las Vegas, Nevada.
Los Angeles, CA – The Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region (ANCA-WR) today expressed its appreciation to Lenna Hovanessian for her dedicated years of service as a member of the ANCA-WR Board, announcing her resignation as she embarks on a new chapter as a candidate for Clark County Commission, District F.
“Lenna has been a pillar of our community and our organization for many years,” remarked ANCA-WR Chairman Oshin Harootoonian. “From advancing Genocide Education in Nevada to advocating for human rights and justice at every level, her record of public service reflects the very best of Armenian-American leadership. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and fully support her next chapter in public service.”
Hovanessian, a respected attorney, activist, and recipient of the ANCA-WR’s 2023 Steve Artinian Visionary Activist Award, recently announced her candidacy for one of Nevada’s most influential local offices. The Clark County Commission governs over 2.3 million residents. It exercises critical oversight of land use, economic development, infrastructure, and billions in public funds–including the Las Vegas strip, one of the world’s most iconic economic engines.
With a lifelong record rooted in service, Hovanessian brings to her candidacy a legacy of community empowerment. As a co-author of Nevada’s Holocaust and Armenian Genocide Education Bill, she played a pivotal role in strengthening statewide historical literacy. Her public policy efforts, combined with legal experience at the federal level and innovative work in healthcare technology, mark her as a bold, solutions-driven leader.
“It has been the honor of my life to serve the Armenian-American community through the ANCA-WR,” stated Hovanessian. “As I take this next step, I carry with me the values and vision our community instilled in me: a commitment to justice, to service, and to building a brighter future for all.”
The ANCA-WR encourages all Armenian-Americans and allies in Nevada to mobilize in support of Hovanessian’s campaign. Her platform prioritizes housing affordability, economic opportunity, youth advancement, and responsible governance–values aligned with the broader Armenian-American commitment to justice and equity.
The primary election for Clark County Commission, including District F, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
