17 Polish football fans arrested in Yerevan for disorderly conduct

Seventeen Polish nationals have been arrested in downtown Yerevan on suspicion of disorderly conduct and hooliganism following the football match between Noah and Legia Warszawa, authorities said.

According to media reports, the Polish football fans allegedly vandalized property at the Vernissage market.

The arrests came after Legia’s 2-1 defeat to Yerevan’s Noah on December 11 in the UEFA Conference League, which saw Noah qualify for the play-off stage.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the individuals, all Legia fans, were detained for “hooliganism and for showing blatant disrespect toward the public.”

The case has been handed over to the investigative department for further action.
