Pasadena Community Marks Two Important Milestones
More than 400 community members turned to mark two important milestones for the Pasadena community—the 40th anniversary of the founding of its parish and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the St. Sarkis Armenian Church.
These important events were celebrated during a banquet on December 6 at the Pasadena Hilton held under the auspices of the Western Prelate Archbishop Kegham Khacherian.
The gala was sponsored by Western Prelacy benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Sarkis and Nune Sepetjian and organized by Pastor Rev. Boghos Baltayan, together with the Board of Trustees and the Ladies’ Guild of St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church.

Among those in attendance were former Western Prelates Archbishops Moushegh Mardirossian and Torkom Donoyan; Chairman of the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy Vahe Hovaguimian and his wife, Hasmig; Central Executive Council member Gaidzag Zetlian and his wife, Dzovig, who also serves on the Executive Council of the Western Prelacy, Executive Council; fellow executive council members Jack Hadjinian and Sarkis Tatikian; as well as family members, benefactors, friends, and guests.
In his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian described the celebration as a commendable and successful gathering that reflected the unity of the Pasadena parish and its church family. The Prelate commended the parish pastor, the Board of Trustees, the Ladies’ Guild, the sponsoring couple, the organizers, the volunteers, and the generous donors for their dedication and service.
Archbishop Khacherian also offered his pastoral guidance, encouraging continued organization and growth in the Pasadena community, as well as spiritual unity, and ongoing success of church programs.
The prelate concluded his remarks by extending his fatherly blessings and best wishes to all members of the Pasadena community, both present and absent.
