Armenian teenager Mher Gharibyan, who took first place at an international mixed martial arts tournament in Kars, raised the Armenian tri-color in a city that is part of Western Armenia.

The 16-year-old Gharibyan, who trains with the MY FIGHT club and represents Armenia, took first place in the 54/55-kilogram weight division. He defeated his opponent from Georgia.

The event holds special significance as Gharibyan secured his victory in historic Kars, which was a key part of historic Armenia.

Gharibyan traveled to the tournament with the sponsorship of the “Tashir” Charitable Foundation and Samvel Karapetyan.
