Armenian government ‘replaces’ Snoop Dogg Concert with Jennifer Lopez

The decision provides for replacing the words “Snoop Dogg” in the appendix with the words “Jennifer Lopez (JLo).
In other words, the $6 million initially earmarked for Snoop Dogg’s Yerevan concert—which was not held—is now allocated to Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming Yerevan concert.
The justification for the decision states:
“The problems in the current situation are due to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023, as well as the moral and psychological state of our compatriots forcibly displaced to the Republic of Armenia, which has become an obstacle to the implementation of the event [i.e. the Snoop Dogg concert].
As a result of consistent discussions with the Doping Space organization, which implements the Project by the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the Doping Space organization has presented new deadlines for the implementation of the ‘World Star’s Armenia Tour’ musical project and the name of the new Star.
The project will be implemented in 2025 at the “Republican” Vazgen Sargsyan Stadium, where Jennifer Lopez will perform.
For the implementation of the project, the Armenian government has allocated 2,318,596.8 thousand drams (including VAT) to the Doping Space organization in 2023.
No additional funding will be provided to Doping Space LLC for the event to be implemented in 2025.
Due to the change of the world star, there is also a need to edit point 5 of Appendix 1 (the words Snoop Dogg have been replaced with the words Jennifer Lopez).
Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Yerevan is slated for Sunday at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium.
