Azerbaijani NGO releases song about ‘Zangezur’, referencing Mount Ararat and Armenian territory

Iran specialist Vardan Voskanyan has sounded the alarm over a new Azerbaijani propaganda project that uses music to promote pan-Turkic expansionist narratives.
In a social media post on Friday, Voskanyan revealed that with the support of a state agency in Baku, an Azerbaijani NGO has released a song and video titled “Zangezur.” The video features footage from Armenian territory, including the road to the Noravank Monastery.
The lyrics, framed in the spirit of pan-Turkic ideology, depict “Zangezur” as the final destination of a “victory path” and include references to Mount Ararat (“Ağrı Dağ” in Turkish).
Voskanyan pointed out the irony that while the Armenian leadership dismisses even the symbolic significance of Mount Ararat, Azerbaijan appropriates such imagery to advance its own agenda.
