Call for Armenian Genocide Commemorative Materials
The Armenian Genocide Research Program (AGRP) of the Promise Armenian Institute
(PAI) at UCLA and the Ararat-Eskijian Museum (AEM) announced a new
collaborative exhibition and discussion to take place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM
(PT) at the AEM Sheen Chapel, highlighting the visual culture of remembrance surrounding
the Armenian Genocide.
AEM Museum Director Marguerite Mangassarian Goschin recently acquired a collection of
commemorative posters from Beirut, representing various years and perspectives of
remembrance. These rare pieces offer valuable insight into how Armenian communities have
memorialized the Genocide across time and geography.
They are now seeking additional visual materials—covering both the pre-1965 and post-1965
periods, from Armenia, the diaspora, or any other context—that commemorate the Armenian
Genocide to supplement the exhibition. These materials may include, but are not limited to:
• Commemorative posters
• Flyers and announcements
• Event programs and brochures
• Postcards and stamps
• Photographs (or reproductions) of public commemorations
• Other forms of visual material related to remembrance
The materials will be loaned to the AEM until the conclusion of the exhibition at the end of
April.
