It is stated that if the YPG/SDF organization, which is expected to be integrated into the Syrian army, is not integrated into the Damascus administration by the end of the year, Syria is planning a comprehensive operation. President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a statement today, “We are making the necessary suggestions for the implementation of the March 10 Agreement, which carries the risk of turning into a crisis if there is resistance in Syria.”
LAST 15 DAYS
The time given for compliance with the eight-point March 10 Agreement, signed between the Damascus-based interim administration in Syria and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on March 10, 2025, is running out. The agreement was expected to be implemented by the end of the year.
TURKEY’S MESSAGE TO THE SDF IS CLEAR
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had said regarding the situation in Syria, “The implementation of the March 10 agreement by those who signed it, in accordance with the principle of fidelity to the agreement, will solve an important knot.”
Turkey’s Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler also said, “Some statements made recently and analyses in the international media show that the YPG/SDF organization is being used as a tool by regional actors to prepare the ground for new geopolitical engineering.” “For the permanent establishment of our goal of a Turkey free from terrorism, it is essential that the armed elements in Syria be quickly integrated into the central government. We expect the organization to take into account the calls for disarmament and integration coming from within its own ranks and to complete this transformation without delay, preventing external interference,” he had stated.
80,000 SOLDIERS TO BE DEPLOYED
According to information from security sources, the Syrian army is preparing to launch a large-scale operation as the deadline given to the PKK-SDF structure expires. It was reported that 7 divisions and 80,000 soldiers will be deployed to this front alone. It was stated that this number will increase in parallel with developments, and that heavy weapons from the army’s inventory, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), helicopters, and fighter jets, will provide support.
