Louvre artworks to be on display in Armenia

Lauding the friendly and historically strong relationship between Armenia and France, the minister reiterated readiness to enhance the partnership in the areas of education, science, culture, youth and sports, the ministry said in a press release.
She praised joint initiatives, particularly the training program for French language teachers. Over 240 teachers have participated in the training program which is carried out jointly with the embassy of France.
The sides also discussed cooperation in culture, addressing the Colors and Lights of Armenian Impressionism exhibition at the Barbizon Cultural Center in France featuring works of art from the collection of the National Gallery of Armenia.
Organizational issues of the upcoming exhibition at the History Museum of Armenia in collaboration with the Louvre were discussed. Over a dozen of exhibits from the Louvre will be transported to Armenia for the event.
“We consider this cooperation to be not only a significant cultural event, but a practical measure for capacity building and professional empowerment of our museums,” Andreasyan said.
The French Ambassador lauded the dynamic, mutually beneficial and productive cooperation based on mutual trust and shared values between the two countries.
He reiterated France’s readiness to continuously make efforts to strengthen cooperation, implement new initiatives and strengthen partnership.
The activities of the French University of Armenia, the Anatole France French Lycee, as well as the development of the French language courses in public schools were discussed.
