Pashinyan, Aliyev to submit joint application nominating Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

(Armenpress) — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev have decided to submit a joint application to the Nobel Committee to nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, PM Pashinyan announced in a message to the nation.

The prime minister referred to the negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan held in Washington on August 8 under U.S. mediation and the documents signed das part of the talks. He stressed that peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, highlighting what he described as the “invaluable” role of President Trump and his administration in the process.

Speaking at a press conference following the signing of the declaration, Pashinyan said Trump deserved to receive the Nobel Peace Prize and President Aliyev proposed submitting a joint application.
