Pope Leo XIV thanks Patriarch of Istanbul for warm reception in Armenian church

Pope Leo XIV sent a letter to Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople (Istanbul) Sahak II thanking him for the warm reception at the Holy Mother of God Patriarchal Armenian Apostolic Church in Istanbul.
“Such moments only serve to strengthen and deepen the fraternal bonds between our two Churches,” Pope Leo XIV said in the letter.
The Pope also added that he looks forward to further meetings with the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople.
Pope Leo XIV visited Turkey from November 27 to 30, 2025.
