Priscilla Presley ‘felt like a prostitute’ In awkward meeting with Kirk Kerkorian

Priscilla Presley has admitted she was “inexperienced in the dating world” following her split from Elvis.

The 80-year-old actress has just released her highly-anticipated memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis. In the book, she spoke about her life after splitting from the King of Rock and Roll and going on to date other men, such as Robert Kardashian.

Priscilla’s fling with Robert was short-lived and she was eventually introduced to businessman Kirk Kerkorian by a mutual friend. Kirk was 28 years older than Priscilla, but that didn’t stop them from becoming friends. Priscilla wrote about their relationship in her memoir, in which she also branded Michael Jackson “manipulative.”

Priscilla admitted she hadn’t known much about Kirk when they met, but described him as “well-mannered and thoughtful.” As their friendship progressed, he invited her to join him and some friends in Cannes.

“I was excited,” Priscilla recalled in her memoir. “I had never been to Cannes, and now I would get to see it.

However, she said she had been “so naive” in agreeing to go on the trip. Priscilla explained how she thought the vacation was “just a trip with this lovely older man who wanted to show me the beautiful city he loved” and she had assumed she would be staying in her own room.

When they arrived at Cannes, things didn’t go as Priscilla had expected. She had an adjoining room with Kirk on his yacht and admitted she began to wonder what was expected of her.

“I started to panic,” Priscilla wrote. “While Kirk was resting that afternoon, I went for a walk. I realized I’d gotten myself into a situation I wasn’t ready for. I felt like a prostitute, as if I were trading my body for a trip to France.”

She said she knew she couldn’t do what appeared to be expected of her and so made reservations for a flight home that same night. Priscilla then told Kirk there had been a misunderstanding.

The mom-of-two admitted she was “embarrassed” to tell Kirk, but said he was a “true gentleman” in his response. He told Priscilla he understood why she had to leave and she then flew home to Los Angeles.

Kirk and Priscilla remained friends after the trip and she insisted he never made her feel uncomfortable about what happened in Cannes. However, she did admit it was a “wake-up call” as she realized she was “inexperienced” in the dating world after marrying Elvis at such a young age.
