Tashir Foundation sues Yerevan Municipality over banner removal

The Tashir Charitable Foundation has filed a lawsuit against the Yerevan Municipality in the Administrative Court, seeking to overturn the removal of banners featuring businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan.

According to court records, the foundation demands that the dismantling of six banners displaying Karapetyan’s image on the Dalma Garden Mall, located at 3 Tsitsernakaberd Highway and owned by Dalma Invest LLC, be declared unlawful. The city authorities’ actions on July 1, which included taking down the banners and transporting them away, are being challenged as illegitimate.

The case was registered on July 17 and assigned to judge Ruzanna Azroyan.

Previously, similar banners reading “Freedom to Samvel Karapetyan” were removed from the Northern Avenue and the Tashir Trade Center buildings.
