Tourist arrivals in Armenia decline, Turkish visitors increase

According to Armenia’s Statistical Committee, 907,135 tourists visited the country in the first half of 2025, down from 946,162 during the same period in 2024.
Arrivals from Turkey grew modestly: 5,756 Turkish citizens visited in 2025 compared to 5,539 a year earlier. The report also recorded a single tourist arrival from Azerbaijan.
Russian citizens remained the largest group of visitors, with 338,052 arrivals, though this marked a sharp decline from 395,688 in 2024. Iran ranked second with 78,045 visitors, followed by the United States with 16,964.

Under UN World Tourism Organization methodology, an international tourist is someone traveling outside their permanent residence for at least 24 hours but less than one year, for leisure, health, family, business, religious, or other purposes — excluding work-related travel.
