100 + 10 – Armenian Allegories

Maxim Gorki Theater

Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov once said he takes his “revenge on this world with love.” This love is deeply woven into the images, films, plays, and music featured at the festival 100 + 10 – Armenian Allegories. The program will take place from April 24 to May 31, 2025 at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin and will serve as a prologue to the festival 7th Berliner Herbstsalon RE-IMAGINE!.

This festival brings together 150 artists from around the world, providing 100 + 10 years after the Armenian genocide a vivid portrayal of the Armenian voices today.

Through their work, the artists explore themes of critical self-reflection, resistance, and the intersection of artistic experimentation with political and social consciousness.

The literature series MEINE SEELE IM EXIL (My Soul in Exile) will connect renowned Armenian authors with influential voices from the Berlin literary scene, showcasing staged readings and engaging discussions: Join us for insights from Fatma Aydemir, Fatih Akın, Benita Bailey, Saro Emirze, Alina Manoukian, Katerina Poladjan, Milena Abovyan, Simone Kucher, Nelly Barseghyan, Deniz Utlu, Anna Davtyan, Karén Karslyan, Sasha Marianna Salzmann, Aram Pachyan, Necati Öziri, Lika Zakaryan, Ronya Othmann, Armen Ohanyan, Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç, Agapi Mkrtchian and others.

The admission to the exhibition FUTURE IMPERFECT: ARMENIAN ART FROM AFTERMATHS is free.
