58 Cases of West Nile Fever Confirmed in Armenia

As many as 58 cases of West Nile fever infection have been confirmed in Armenia. This was stated by Stepan Atoyan, director of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
“To date, 58 cases of West Nile fever infection have been confirmed in Armenia, 41 patients have been hospitalized, their conditions are mostly of moderate severity,” Atoyan said. According to the director of the National Center, one person died due to the disease: he was a man born in 1938, who suffered from concomitant chronic diseases.
