President Recep Tayyip Erdogan receives former master spy and now Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at the Presidential Palace.

Erdogan: Come in, come in, Hakan. Take a chair. How are you?

Fidan: I am fine. Thank you. Brother Ilham finally released some of the Armenian war criminals.

Erdogan: Yes, but he continues to play games. He is not observing the plot we hatched. Did you not tell him to release eight prisoners?

Fidan: I did. By not releasing eight criminals he was telling us he is not our junior partner.

Erdogan: Do something…tit for that…something to teach him a lesson.We created him and we can snuff him and his gangster family.

Fidan: Perhaps the Israelis are pumping his ego, telling him he doesn’t need us. Perhaps Tel Aviv is sending us a message not to interfere in their Gaza genocide.

Erdogan: What’s the public reaction in Armenia to the release of the fourterrorists?

Fidan: The usual ultra-nationalist and fascist media carped that all 24 terrorists should have been released. But generally speaking, the average Armenian is pleased but expects further releases. Of course, the naïve billionaire, who parachuted from Moscow, is the last terrorist to be released—if ever. Considering his billions, he can topple Pashinyan with little effort.

Erdogan: So, our chess pieces are moving nicely, except for Aliyev Jr. Your words that we appreciate Pashinyan’s constructive role in improving the tripartite relationship will certainly split the vote in Armenia. Some people will be happy and others would say: “If the Turks like Pashinian, it means he can’t be trusted.” That would split the vote and result in parliamentary paralyses. So, no matter who becomes prime minister, he would be vulnerable and malleable.

Fidan: Not only does he have a big nose, Aliyev also has a big mouth. He is spending like a drunken sailor to elevate his image. He is also too dense to appreciate our finely-tuned sophisticated plot. While we outwardly support Pashinyan, we want to see him crash and burn, and take Armenia with him. We want to see an Armenia which is in disarray and without capable leaders.

All this will make it easier to swallow the country lock, stock, and barrel. We would march down Agri Dagh [Ararat] and take over Armenia without firing a bullet. Armenia has been around 2,700 years. It’s time it went to a nursing home.

Erdogan: Let’s go over our plot, step by step.

Fidan: Here are the key steps.

1. We hail Aliyev’s release of the four terrorists

2. Pashinyan gets plus points from the Armenian public.

3. As we get closer to the June election, we remind Aliyev to free ten more to assure a Pashinyan victory.

4. Once he wins the parliamentary elections, we secretly fund the opposition, including revanchists, through Armenian front men and expose the number of times Pashinyan said “Yes” to our excessive demands.

5. To guarantee chaos and retaliation, we shoot a couple of politicians: pro-Pashinyan and anti-Pashinyan… we watch them fight. Armenia descends into civil war.

6. Our two armies—Turkish and Azerbaijani—advance into Armenia to promote peace. We don’t have to kill too many. Diaspora Armenians launch a campaign to move refugees to Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena… to Yeni Ermenistan.

As I said, they have been around for far too long. It’s high time they kicked the bucket, as the Americans say so vividly.
