Armenian Prime Minister Launches Music Group Varchaband with First Concert in Yerevan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, announced the creation of a new musical community and its first performance in Yerevan. He shared the information on his social media.
Pashinyan unveiled the logo and the band’s name – “Varchaband”. The name combines the first two syllables of the word “premier” in Armenian with the word “band”, creating a new image for the group.
According to the head of government, the band’s first concert will take place on January 30 in Yerevan; the venue will be announced later. Admission will be available by prior registration.
I invite you to the dance floor. We play – you dance

In August 2025, the Hraparak newspaper wrote that Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Akopyan began learning musical instruments – mastering the guitar and drums. Subsequently, the prime minister repeatedly posted videos in which he plays the drums.
Creating a musical ensemble under the leadership of the head of government has drawn public interest and shifts attention to the country’s cultural landscape. Such a move demonstrates a desire to blend politics with art and could influence the leadership’s image and civic dialogue in Armenia.
