Pashinyan sees nothing wrong with expressing gratitude to Azerbaijan’s president
“I also expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani president,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing on Thursday, responding to a request for comment on the controversial statement of Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. He had thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev who had awarded the title of hero to the plotters and perpetrators of the ethnic Armenian cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“I have publicly expressed gratitude [to the Azerbaijani president] for a number of decisions. For example, grain and diesel fuel are being delivered to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan. Roads are also being opened. I do not think that we should criticize Azerbaijan for this, let alone condemn [it],” the Armenian premier said.
Also, Pashinyan once again stated that the Karabakh Movement should not continue.
“As Prime Minister, I am committed to this policy and will continue to implement it. If people disagree with this policy, I call on them to take to the streets and carry out a revolutio,” Pashinyan noted.
