Armenia’s athletes continue performances at 2026 Winter Olympics
Armenia’s representatives at the 25th Winter Olympic Games in Italy continue their performances.
Armenian Olympic team member Katya Galstyan, competing in the 20 km skiathlon (classical/freestyle), did not finish the race after completing the first 10 km in classical style. The Olympic title in the women’s skiathlon was won by Sweden’s Frida Karlsson with a time of 53 minutes 45 seconds. This is Galstyan’s fourth Winter Olympics. She will compete in the 10 km interval start (freestyle) event on February 12.
Skier Mikayel Mikayelyan finished 48th out of 73 participants in the 20 km skiathlon (classical/freestyle) with a time of 51 minutes 06 seconds. The Olympic gold went to Norway’s Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, who completed the race in 46 minutes 11 seconds. Mikayelyan will compete in the 10 km interval start (freestyle) on February 13.
Alpine skier Harutyun Harutyunyan will compete in the giant slalom on February 14 and the slalom on February 16.
Figure skating pair Karina Akopova and Nikita Rakhmanin will perform in the short program qualification on February 15, with the free program qualification taking place on February 16.
