Call me a coward. In Gary’s shoes, I would have done the same thing even without knowing what we know today. The U2 affair was treason by Allen Dulles (CIA).
U2 took off in violation of President Eisenhower’s no flights order over Soviet Union prior to the sensitive negotiations for nuclear peace scheduled in Paris between the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and France on May 16.
