Illegal regime in Northern Cyprus imposes new entry requirements for Armenia nationals
The illegal regime in Turkish-occupied Northern Cyprus has announced the introduction of the Göç-Sis and E-Visa systems. Accordingly, in the first phase, citizens of Syria, Nigeria, and Armenia will be included in this electronic visa system, and the current procedure for submitting visa applications at consulates for these countries will be canceled.
With the new system, entry oversight will begin not only at border checkpoints, but checks can also be carried out before a person arrives in the aforesaid Turkish-occupied zone. From now on, receiving an invitation from a university in Northern Cyprus will not automatically mean the possibility of entering Northern Cyprus.
Universities in Northern Cyprus will send information and documents about potential students to the Northern Cyprus immigration department electronically, and the immigration department will conduct an assessment after consulting with the Northern Cyprus Directorate General for Police. If approved, the student will be able to enter the occupied zone.
Syrian, Nigerian, and Armenian citizen students who require a visa will be able to arrive in Northern Cyprus by applying for an electronic visa. Students whose entry is approved will be automatically assigned an identification number by the system, so all information will be recorded—starting from entering the occupied zone to registering at the university and obtaining a residence permit.
