Albert Shirakian Joins AECP Board of Directors

The Armenian EyeCare Project welcomed its newest board member. Albert Shirakian serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Retina Vitreous Associates Medical Group (RVAMG) in Los Angeles.

A leader in the healthcare sector, Shirakian heads one of the largest retina specialty practices in the U.S. With a proven executive record that includes roles as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer, Shirakian quickly rose through the ranks at RVAMG to become CEO and has contributed greatly to driving strategic growth, operational excellence and robust financial leadership at the medical group.

Shirakian says his decision to join AECP as a board member was solidified when he traveled to Armenia with AECP during its 2024 Medical Mission. “As a member of the Armenian diaspora, I’ve always sought meaningful ways to give back to my homeland,” Shirakian said. “When I visited Armenia last year, I was humbled by the dedication and expertise of the local clinicians and deeply moved by the quality of care being delivered through AECP. It was a proud moment to realize that my professional background could help support and strengthen this impactful work.”!
