ARCHBISHOP KEGHAM KHATCHERIAN ELECTED PRELATE OF WESTERN U.S. PRELACY
The Representative Assembly of the Western Prelacy of the United States on April 19 convened its 51 special assembly under presidency of Prelate, Archbishop Torkom Donoyan at the Holy Martyrs Church Avedisian Hall in Montebello, California.
During the one-day special meeting, Archbishop Donoyan withdrew his name from the ballot after which voting commenced via secret ballot resulting in the following tabulation: Archbishop Kegham Khatcherian 27 votes, Very Rev. Muron Aznikian 7 votes and 6 blank ballots.
On this occasion, Archbishop Donoyan expressed his congratulations and pledged his full support to the newly elected Prelate.
The newly elected Prelate will arrive in Los Angeles on April 25.
