Arif Pashayev, Father of Mehrabian Aliyeva, Owns a Conglomerate By OCCRP

The father of Mehriban Aliyeva, who is a vice president of Azerbaijan as well as President Ilham Aliyev’s wife. OCCRP reported in 2012 that Pashayev controlled an Azeri conglomerate involved in insurance, banking, travel, construction and banking. Pashayev’s Czechia-registered company owned a hotel and other properties in that country. In 2007, Pashayev gifted a mansion outside Moscow to his young grandson, Heydar Aliyev. Aside from his business activities, Pashayev is rector of Azerbaijan’s National Aviation Academy.

The villas that list Pashayev as owner were last sold in 2021. Official records show the owner is Green Apple Investment FZE, the same company that is listed on properties connected to Heydar Aliyev. Reporters were not able to determine who is behind this company.
