Armenia 101st, Azerbaijan 60th in world in military power

Armenia at the beginning of 2026 ranks 101st in the world in terms of military strength, according to the Global Firepower (GFP) 2026 Military Strength Ranking.
Russia traditionally remains in second place, while the United States is in first place in this ranking. The top ten includes China, India, South Korea, France, Japan, United Kingdom, Turkey, and Italy as well.
Azerbaijan ranks 60th, Iran ranks 16th, while Georgia ranks 95th.
The ranking assesses more than 60 factors to calculate the military power index of 145 countries, including their financial condition, geographical location, logistical capabilities, etc.
The GFP ranking is compiled since 2005. It is part of the Military Factory network, which provides data on countries’ armaments.
