Armenia, Azerbaijan reiterate commitment to 2007 deal on removing nationals from wanted list

Yerevan (ARMENPRESS) — The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs has commented on media reports suggesting that Armenia removed Azerbaijani nationals from its international wanted list.
In response to an inquiry by Armenpress, the ministry reminded that Armenia and Azerbaijan reciprocally agreed in 2007 to withdraw the CIS red notices against citizens of each other’s countries.
It added that in 2024, Armenia and Azerbaijan reiterated their commitment to the agreement whereby they won’t declare citizens of each other’s countries wanted in the territory of the CIS countries.
“Based on the agreement reached between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan back in 2007, the parties had agreed to reciprocally cease the interstate search declared against citizens of the two countries in the territory of CIS member states. Based on the abovementioned agreement and the fact that the parties haven’t violated the agreement since 2007, in 2024 the parties reiterated commitment to stop/not declare interstate search in the territory of CIS member states on a reciprocal basis,” the ministry said.
