Armenia Welcomes Largest Data Processing Center by OVIO
BY ANDREA Y. LAVANNYA
OVIO has announced the opening of the largest and most powerful Data Processing Center in Armenia, which will underpin the bulk of data management and cloud services in the country.
The OVIO data center was built in compliance with high TIER III equipment and infrastructure reliability standards, including providing double data replication, power from two electrical substations, a backup cooling system, uninterrupted operation of the data center during maintenance and upgrades, and other advantages.
With more than 200 racks, the data center will provide secure processing and storage of data for large and small businesses, as well as government institutions, making it possible to save huge amounts of money required for the purchase of expensive equipment and its maintenance. The facility is located in the city of Abovyan, just 16 kilometers from the capital Yerevan.
The investment program for the Data Processing Center was approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and included in the ‘Infrastructure for Investment’ support program of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
