LUXEMBURG (Armradio) – Armenian chef Vera Hovhannisyan won a gold medal and a cup at the Culinary World Cup 2014 held in Luxemburg from November 22 to 26.
The competition featured more than 1,000 cooks from 60 countries, as well as 105 national, regional and youth teams.
Vera Hovhannisyan’s twin sister, Rena Hovhannisyan, also joined her in the competitions. The sisters presented two works at the contest and both won gold medals.
Vera and Rena have inherited the love for the culinary arts from their parents and grandfather. Vera once had a pastry shop in Yerevan, and her family continued the business after she moved to Moscow.
Vera has won a number of international competitions. At the age of 20, she received her first gold medal in Malta. She’s particularly known for her unique cakes, but at the Culinary World Cup, the sisters presented sugar compositions.
