A new survey by GALLUP International Association’s Armenian affiliate, MPG LLC, indicates that the ruling Civil Contract party would lead if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, with voter participation also on the rise.
According to the poll, conducted by telephone between May 19–21 with 1,102 respondents, 59.3% said they would “definitely” take part in the vote. That marks an increase from 51.9% in early April and 57.5% later that month, MPG LLC Director Aram Navasardyan told reporters on Friday.
When asked which party or alliance they would support, 28.8% of respondents named Civil Contract, followed by 14.9% for Strong Armenia party, 12.1% for the Hayastan bloc, 8.7% for the Prosperous Armenia Party and 5.8% for the Wings of Unity bloc. Smaller parties, including Democracy Law Discipline (3.4%), Bright Armenia (2.9%) and several others, each polled below 3%.
Meanwhile, 0.9% said they would spoil their ballot, 8.6% refused to answer and 3.4% were undecided.
