Bipartisan Congressional Delegation Led by Senator Roger Wicker Visits Armenia

During their visit July 2-5, the Congressional delegation met with their counterparts in the Armenian National Assembly, and with representatives of the Armenian government, to strengthen the partnership between the two countries. The delegation took part in a wreath laying ceremony at the Armenian Genocide Memorial, followed by meetings with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, and President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan. The delegation also met with members of parliament from across Armenia’s political spectrum, representatives of civil society, and refugees and displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh.
The U.S. Helsinki Commission is an independent U.S. government commission that advances American national security and national interests by promoting human rights, military security, and economic cooperation in 57 OSCE countries.
The U.S. Ambassador in Yerevan welcomes to Armenia a bipartisan U.S. Congressional Delegation led by Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), the Senate ranking member of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, also known as the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE). Senator Wicker is also the ranking member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee.
