Chamlian School Celebrates 50 Years at Gala; Raises $1.6 Million
“As we gather to celebrate Chamlian’s 50th Anniversary Gala, my heart swells with pride and joy. This momentous occasion brings our entire community together, bridging past, present, and future. It is a tribute to our enduring legacy and a look forward to the boundless opportunities that await us. Tonight, we celebrate not just a school, but a family, a shared journey, and a bright future.” said Dr. Talin P. Kargodorian, Chamlian’s Head of School.
The gala was an occasion to honor the Chamlian family, alongside the Baghdassarians, for their contributions and support. In a special tribute, the evening also recognized the first school board members: Alice Petrossian, Armine Hacopian, Vahik Petrossian, Vahe Hacopian, and Vrej Gregorian.
Highlighting the evening was the homage paid to the faculty, who have devoted more than 25 years to nurturing students. Arpik Ananian, nearing a half-century of service; Arax Zarzavatjian, Western Armenian Department Chair and Teacher (44 years); Seda Batmanian, Dean of Students (31 years); Lida Gevorkian, Science Department Chair and Teacher (28 years); Lou Golshan, Math Department Chair and Teacher (26 years); and Taline Porichis, Second Grade Lead Teacher (25 years) were celebrated for their dedication.
This special ceremony was led by the Head of School, Dr. Kargodorian, and Western Prelate Archbishop Kegham Khacherian.
Chamlian school also extended its gratitude to Chris Pogosyan and the Chamlian family, whose generous sponsorship ensured the gala’s success.
The evening’s program began with Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian, leading the opening prayer and them inviting Prelate Khacherian to share his remarks.
The Prelate expressed his sincere appreciation to the founding benefactors of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian Armenian School as well as all past and present benefactors for their vision and dedication to supporting our community.
Following his remarks, Archbishop Khacherian presented a letter of blessings from His
Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia, in celebration of the school’s 50th
Anniversary.
