Culture Ministry to fund Armenian, Maronite and Latin cultural activities

The Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture announced the launch of the “Cultural Activities Support Scheme for Religious Groups” for 2026.
According to the Deputy Ministry, the scheme aims to provide financial support for cultural activities organised by Cyprus’ Armenian, Latin and Maronite Religious Groups, which contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of each group across various fields of cultural creation, including literature, music, theatre, cinema, visual arts, folk culture and dance.
“Each community holds a precious thread in the fabric of Cyprus’ identity. Through this Scheme, we support the creative expression of the Religious Groups, so that their memories, traditions and contemporary voices can continue to illuminate our shared cultural landscape, inspiring dialogue, understanding and cohesion,” Deputy Minister of Culture Klea Papaellina said.
The scheme provides funding for cultural activities implemented by the Offices of the Representatives of the three Religious Groups, as well as by organisations originating from the three groups.
Its objectives include highlighting Cyprus’ cultural identity through activities that promote cultural pluralism and act as a catalyst for strengthening social cohesion.
Applications will be accepted exclusively through the digital platform grants4arts.cy from September 1, 2026.
Applications will be reviewed and assessed by a three-member Evaluation Committee.
The deadline for applications is September 27, 2026.
