General Antranik’s wedding flowers donated to History Museum of Armenia

By Misak Ohanian
An extraordinary piece of Armenian heritage has made its way from London to the Հայաստանի պատմության թանգարան/History Museum of Armenia, thanks to a significant discovery at the Center for Armenian Information & Advice (CAIA) Hayashen Library.
Within books donated to our library, our volunteer Mr. Jude Galstaun, identified an envelope with handwritten notes containing what has now been authenticated as the dried wedding bouquet flowers of General Andranik Ozanian, from his wedding on May 15, 1922 in Paris, France.
These unique mementos, shared with guests like Dr. Aram Gueuktchian, were carefully preserved by his family, including daughter Mrs. Ani Aram Christie (neé Gueukdjian) born in 1923 and her son Mel, who facilitated their recent donation.
Recognizing their immense historical value, CAIA, in collaboration with the Christie family and Mr. Galstaun decided to donate these priceless flowers to the State History Museum of Armenia.
The formal donation took place on May 22, 2025, where Mr. Jude and Mrs. Ruzan Galstaun presented the artifact to Dr. David Poghosyan, Director of the Museum. Dr. Poghosyan extended his deepest thanks to CAIA and the Christie family for this invaluable contribution to Armenia’s national history.
