Glendale Sister Cities Presents Inaugural Cultural Festival Celebrating Glendale’s Global Community
Free, family-friendly event brings live music, cultural performances, global flavors, artisan vendors and more to Downtown Glendale on October 4.
Glendale, CA – The City’s Sister Cities Program invites the public to celebrate the city’s rich cultural diversity and international connections at the Glendale Inaugural Cultural Festival, taking place Sunday, October 4, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Artsakh Paseo in Downtown Glendale. Admission is free and the event is open to all ages.
The Cultural Festival will bring the community together for an afternoon and evening of live music, cultural performances, global flavors, artisan vendors, face painting and more, creating an opportunity to experience and celebrate the traditions that connect Glendale to communities around the world.
The Cultural Festival will feature cultural performances representing Glendale’s Sister Cities in Armenia, Artsakh heritage, the Dominican Republic, Japan, Korea, Mexico and the Philippines.
“Glendale’s strength comes from the diversity of the people who call our city home. The many cultures and traditions they bring with them add a unique richness to our community,” said Glendale Mayor Ardy Kassakhian. “The Cultural Festival is an opportunity for our community to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the connections that make Glendale such a special place. We invite everyone to join us for this celebration.”
The Cultural Festival continues Glendale’s tradition of bringing people together through large-scale multicultural celebrations. In the early 2000s, the City hosted UnityFest, a multicultural event that drew more than 20,000 attendees. The Glendale Cultural Festival carries that spirit forward, creating a welcoming space for the community to experience cultures through music, dance, food and art.
Through events and cultural exchanges such as the Cultural Festival, the Glendale Sister Cities Program works to foster international friendship, cultural understanding and meaningful connections between Glendale and communities around the world.
