Hate Acts and Crimes against Armenians increased by 200% in L.A. County
The local, state, and federal governments allocate budgets (money) to Armenian neighborhoods, organizations, and causes based on demonstrated need.
It benefits all Armenians when Armenian Americans confidentially or anonymously report hate acts, incidents, and hate crimes to LA County by calling 211 or visiting LAvsHate.org.
The Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations reports that hate acts and crimes against Armenians increased by 200% in 2022. This is due to people reporting the incidents, which helps allocate budgets.
Truth And Accountability League (TAAL), in partnership with the LA County Commission on Human Relations(LACCHR) and LA vs. Hate, produced five (5) anti-bigotry Public Service Announcements (PSAs) titled ‘Stand TAAL to Hate’ featuring elected officials and other high-profile public figures. The objective of the PSAs is to educate the public to report hate acts, incidents, and hate crimes by calling 211 or going to LAvsHate.org. The PSAs empower people to report such incidents proactively and get help.
The dignitaries featured in the PSAs are actress and comedian Margaret Cho, Glendale Police Chief Manny Cid, Glendale Community College Superintendent and President Ryan Cornner, businessman Rick Carusso, and Criminal Defense Attorney Mark Geragos.
