Historical Novel Traverses Time and Space to Uplift Armenian Cause

SANTA ANA, Calif. — A new historical novel “The Girl of the Mountains” by Sevan will be launched at a presentation and book signing event at Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church held in junction with Hamazkayin Siamanto Chapter. The event will take place Sunday November 1 at 1:30 p.m.
“The heart of history beats through a powerful narrative, blending truth and fiction to illuminate a forgotten past. ‘The Girl of the Mountains’ is a work of historical fiction inspired by real events and thorough research,” the author said in the novel’s introduction.
“This book is more than an account of places. It is a testament to the systematic destruction and displacement of an Armenian people from their ancestral roots,” writes Sevan. “Justice, as this story reminds us, is not a closed chapter but an ongoing journey. It calls on all of us to bear witness, remember, and turn reflection into resolve.”
“Filled with moments of joy, excitement, reflection, and sadness, this story follows the rhythm of life itself: sometimes gentle, sometimes challenging, like the mountains that shape the Armenian homeland. Vani’s journey is ultimately our own. It is an invitation to rediscover our roots, find the inner Vani within ourselves, and gain a clearer sense of purpose, identity, and belonging,” praised a reader.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the book launch. Light refreshments will be served.
