Regarding your article, “Erdogan’s invitation to Trump to visit Turkey”:
If President-elect Trump is serious about “putting America first,” he must begin by NOT putting his friends “Erdogan” and Turkey first.
Trump himself once acknowledged in an interview that he likes “tough guys” such as Erdogan. American foreign policy should not be based on such “friendships.”
It should be based on the best interests of the American people. All presidents in modern American history have had problems dealing with Turkey.
Whatever one may think about Donald Trump in general, pro or con, he has a particularly troubling history with Turkey, including his business interests there.
My article “Trump’s Turkish Problem” explains and proves much of this: https://countercurrents. org/2022/10/trumps-turkish- problem/
I also just replied to the president-elect on X/Twitter about his Turkish problem. Interestingly, Donald Trump Jr. “liked” my reply:
I hope he has a serious discussion with his father about the latter’s Turkish problem.
In fact, the family itself may have a Turkish problem. Please read my article.
It is particularly the responsibility of Armenian Americans to remind the president-elect (and Congress) of his Turkish Problem and to put the American people first.
That can be done with emails and letters and through helping Armenian American organizations.
