Pres. Vahagn Khachaturyan’s annual income has increased

Vahagn Khachaturyan, the current President of the Republic of Armenia, who is notable for his passive attitude in domestic politics and is more often remembered during official receptions, funerals, holiday messages, and condolence telegrams, recently submitted his annual declaration to the Corruption Prevention Committee.
In this declaration, Vahagn Khachaturyan presented information about his property, income, expenses, and interests for 2024.
According to this declaration, in 2024, the official retained the 4 real estate properties he declared in previous years, two of which, land plots in the Dzoraghbyur community of Kotayk region and the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan, he had received as an inheritance in 2017, and the other two, an apartment and a garage in the Kentron administrative district of Yerevan, as a donation in 2002. All property is managed by the person holding the position of president with the right of sole ownership.
The balances of his several bank accounts have undergone the following changes during the year: 35 million 804,669.2 drams at the beginning of the year amounted to 50 million 410,410.2 drams at the end of the year, 4,583,669.87 drams to 3,804,895.7 drams, 152.9 dollars to 142.51 dollars, and $1,089.46 to $509.69.
Khachaturyan’s cash assets increased during the year, from 1,200,000 drams and $18,000 at the beginning of the year to 1,200,000 drams and $20,000 at the end of the year.
The official’s income of 17 million 154,414 drams for the reporting year was generated from the salary and/or other payments equivalent to it received from the Presidential Administration. The balance of the principal amount of loans and borrowings received as of December 31 of the reporting year amounted to 8,236,300 drams.
According to the declaration submitted last year, the income of Khachaturyan, who held the position of President, for the reporting year, which again came only from the salary received from the Presidential Administration, amounted to 15 million 794,400 drams.
Khachaturyan lives with his wife Anahit Minasyan and son Aram Khachaturyan, but their declarations have not yet been made public on the CSC website. Anahit Minasyan works at the “Academician Emil Gabrielyan Center for Drug and Medical Technology Expertise” CJSC as a chief expert, Aram Khachaturyan at the “Armenian Card” (“ARCA”) Card Payment System CJSC.
