Moscow is closely monitoring developments in Armenia, including the situation surrounding the Armenian Apostolic Church and its spiritual center in Etchmiadzin. This was reported by TASS, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Moscow is attentively following developments in Armenia, including those concerning the Armenian Apostolic Church and its spiritual center in Etchmiadzin,” the ministry stated.
“We are not in the habit of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. However, we are sincerely interested in ensuring that stability, legality, and sustainable development are maintained in our friendly and brotherly Armenia. To achieve this, it is essential to put into practice the Armenian leadership’s declared commitment to democratic values, respect for the feelings of believers, and the principles of religious freedom.”
