Russian Security Council chief visits Azerbaijan after Iran

YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS) — Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Sergei Shoygu has met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, the Azerbaijani presidential office said in a press release.

Shoygu’s Azerbaijan visit comes after his trip to Iran where he met with President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief of the General Staff of Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri.

No details were immediately available on the Shoygu-Aliyev meeting, however, according to unconfirmed media reports the Russian official is visiting Baku to warn against taking any actions in favor of Israel that would be directed against Iran.
