Shant Der-Megerdichian Named Horace Mann Elementary School Principal in Glendale

Shant Der-Megerdichian is the new principal of Horace Mann Elementary School
Veteran educator Shant Der-Megerdichian was appointed the principal at Horace Mann Elementary School in Glendale, effective July 1.
Glendale Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Darneika Watson announced the Der-Megerdichain’s promotion on Tuesday, along with other district-wide management changes.
An educator at Glendale Unified School District since 1992, Der-Megerdichian until recently was the Assistant-Principal at Toll Middle School, where he served in that position since 2019.
Der-Megerdichian began his career as an elementary classroom teacher at R.D. White Elementary School in 1992, then moved to John Muir Elementary School in 2000. In 2017, he was promoted to Assistant Principal at Wilson Middle School
He received his bachelor’s degree in History and a master’s degree in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
