Stephan Soghomonian Named ACC Offensive Player of the Week

SMU sophomore forward Stephan Soghomonian has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from September 29 to October 5, the league announced Tuesday.
The 20-year-old forward from Santa Clarita, California, scored a hat trick in just 44 minutes during SMU’s 4-0 victory over California on Friday. Soghomonian led the Mustangs’ attack with six shots, five of them on target. He became the seventh ACC player this season to record a hat trick and the first SMU player to do so since 2023. The result also marked SMU’s highest-scoring ACC win in program history.
Before joining SMU, Soghomonian played in the youth systems of German clubs Fortuna Düsseldorf and Unterrath. So far this season, he has scored four goals in 10 matches in NCAA competition.
