Tennis player Elina Avanesyan advances to third round at Cincinnati tournament

YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS) — Tennis player Elina Avanesyan, representing Armenia, continues her successful performance at the Cincinnati tournament.

In the second round of the women’s singles at the Cincinnati Masters in the USA, Avanesyan faced Elena Ostapenko of Latvia. Avanesyan won the match in three sets with scores of 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Elina Avanesyan was born in 2002 in Pyatigorsk, Russia. In February 2024, her highest WTA ranking was 60th.

Avanesyan has started playing under the flag of Armenia since August 2024.
